So today is the day that I will be getting my first tattoo. I will be getting it started in about 4 and a half hours and I was told to expect a 4 hour session. But everything will be done in one session including coloring. I am getting excited. But the weird thing is that up to this morning, I have been relatively calm and haven't really thought about it much. I feel like it's the most natural thing to do and as if I have gone through this before because I haven't felt much emotion up to now. I have even been going to the gym all week long which has kept my BG levels in check. My numbers have been low for the most part with only 1 low at 59 (late lunch). I've only been over 125 twice since last Sunday and that was at a 141 and 142 (both times before dinner and due to a late lunch). So I do feel calm and starting to get excited. Wish me luck. And I will be adding a picture or two as soon as I can.

Permalink Reply by Jesus Ingles on March 5, 2012 at 10:24am Thanks. It went great, I guess I was expecting it to be more painful than it was. The process took about 3 1/2 hours with the tattoo artist taking a couple of breaks. By the end though, I was starting to feel it a bit more as he went over some of the areas that he had already done with a bit of color. So the last 15-20 minutes I would feel it a bit more in certain areas. I was also getting tired of being in the same position. But this was nothing like a lot of people had made it out to be. I was expecting a painful procedure with a lot of squirming and double thinking about what I was doing. But I hardly felt it at all. I've had shots at the doctor's office that were more painful. I was completely calm and comfortable. We were talking and joking around with the tattoo artist most of the time. I even took a little bit of time to read a couple of articles from Diabetes Forecast. That's how comfortable I was. No regrets at all and am looking forward to getting my second tattoo. I will be uploading pictures shortly. I have a picture of the wolf without color and a picture of the finished tattoo. I will also be posting pictures in about 3 weeks or so after it has healed completely. I want to thank everyone for their support and advice. I'm glad to have such a cool group to fall back on. :)
