Going to be going on the levemir and humalog pens. Have been using pumps for over 10 years, but now have met DME max on insurance. No money for pump supplies.

Anyway, I am not used to having to calculate anything as the pump always does it. Not great with math. I would love software that I can hand carry, log carbs, BGs, and it would calculate what I should be taking.

Any suggestions?

The book Think Like a Pancreas is very helpful in getting the numbers correct. After getting the baseline numbers, I use three pieces of software on my Android phone. They may also be available on the iPhone. 1. Calorie Counter by FatSecret.com. 2. OnTrack which tracks my meter readings. 3. Insulin Calc which takes the base numbers that you established and gives you bolus numbers based on carb intake.
Thanks, I do not currently have an android phone or an iphone - I have a palm phone. But I may have to check out changing phones for the Insulin Calc. Does the Insulin Calc also track the IOB?

Thanks,
I found a great PALM software that does IOB - it is free - available at www.GlucoseOne.com. You are able to do the quick calculation with your own settings of the ISF, I:C, blood glucose targets - and for different settings based on different times. There is space for a note, in case you wanted to jot down something you ate, or exercise, anything. You can add separate notes. Able to download to the desktop software (also free), and create either a detailed log, summary log, physicians summary, and a couple of others to a pdf file and save - from there you can open and print or email.

I have been testing the IOB calculated against my pump and it is great. I am so excited! Now I am ready to go on MDI since my insurance will no longer pay my pump supplies.
