I'm a LADA diabetic American, and I want to join because the only reason I found out that I was diabetic was because I was afraid of Celiac and being Irish. I had genetic testing for my children and grandchildren. I don't have Celiac, but I did develop Type 1 at 56yo. BTW, we have a strong Irish community in the southwest side of Chicagoland. We hold the biggest Irish parade in the US. My grandfather was a former Irish Christian Brother.

Anyone near Dublin with pump supplies? Kate Banks is visiting there for the day and ripped out her pump by accident. Not sure what model she has.

Is there anyone in this group who was diagnosed before 1970? I'm trying to figure out when Clinitest tablets started to be used in Ireland. Before then there was the terrible Benedict's Solution approach to urine testing. If you know anyone who was diagnosed in the 1960s, could you ask them?

Hi I'm Cork born and bred-until I moved to Los Angeles aged 28. I have type 1 diabetes since I was 17. Diagnosed in Cork University Hospital with Dr. O'Halloran. Have started on the pump since moving to LA and now am 7 weeks pregnant with our first baby. Looking forward to going back to Ireland over the summer
