I've had Type 1 42+ years, 2 years on Medtronic Paradigm Revel 723 Insulin Pump. Few or now complications despite genetically "brittle" blood glucose swings subject to spikes and occasional drops irrespective of activity level or carbohydrate consumption.
I sent you a friend request and would love to share experiences and tips about Diabetes, especially Type 1.

Jim, I tested my urine, but not my blood during my first 40 years. That is what I meant. Urine testing is a very poor estimate of the amount of sugar in the blood. More accurate testing, with glucometers, was not available to me until the mid 1980's.
