Are you on a pump?

I have had type one diabetes for 41 years. I have used MM Paradigm insulin pumps since 2003; I was on multiple daily injections ( MDI) for 7 years prior,;1 shot daily NPH for over 25 years; I far prefer the pump!!!!

I started pumping in October 2007 (been diabetic since 1968). A diabetic friend who became Type 1 about 20 years after I got mine - kept on bugging me to give it a try. I managed to test drive a Medtronic pump for 4 months (with the CMGS) - then when I asked to bring it on a holiday - they said no - so within a week Animas came thru' for me with a pump to do another trial run with. I discovered that I liked the Animas pump so much - that I purchased one after trying to get my endo to agree to my going onto a pump permanently (he was reluctant since he thought I was doing well on MDI). Haven't looked back since then, and am dreading the day my hubby retires, when we can no longer afford the pump, but maybe I'll win a lottery and be able to continue pumping (8 more years until he's finished work). Wish they weren't so darn expensive!

Why did you switch off Paradigm?
