Just curious as to how many of us in this group also hae been diagnosed with some other autoimmune disease. If so, what other dx do you have? How long between your diabetes dx and the other?

So, I will start. Diagnosed T1 28 years ago. Dx for celiac 4 years ago. So ya, I got "picked" twice.

Dxd 28 years ago (jinx). Dxd with Hashimoto's Hypothyroid about 12 years ago. Last year diagnosed with Gluten Intolerance by way of SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). Though not sure Gluten Intolerance is considered auto-immune, but thinking close enough to Celiac to count.

I was DXd w2ith T1 26 years ago. Have heard a lot of talk about asthma being autoimmune. That was 27 years ago. Have also heard that endometriosis maybe autoimmune to. Officially DXd with that 26 years ago, but had the issues for far longer.

I've had diabetes for 20 years, and was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis about 4 years before that. But I'm sure I had it long before I was diagnosed, because I had a goiter that started growing when I was in my late 20's (now 64). I also read an article saying that pre-eclampsia and HELLP Syndrome (used to be called eclampsia) may have an autoimmune cause, and I sure did have that, starting about a month before my son was born.

Someone else mentioned asthma, but I don't think that is AUTO-immune. It IS a problem with inappropriate reactions of the immune system, but against normally harmless external proteins, not self proteins.

Diagnosed over 30 years ago with type 1 and diagnosed about 3 years ago with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I'm 38 years old.

Diagnosed with diabetes 23 years ago, diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis 24 years ago, and autoimmune hepatitis about 18 months ago. I'm hoping these things just come in threes and that's me had my lot!
I have had T1 for 23 years. Two years ago I was diagnosed with Psoriasis, but had evidence of it for maybe 7 years.

Hi All. I've had type 1 for 32 yrs. I also have hypothyroidism, although oddly, after about 10 yrs on meds (low dose), I no longer needed my Synthroid, and my bloodwork has now been normal for over 10 yrs. I also have Psoriatic Arthritis, and honestly, this affects my quality of life more than my diabetes most days. I had psoriasis starting at age 7, but wasn't diagnosed with type 1 diabetes until age 12, and didn't develop psoriatic arthritis until my early 30s. My sister has Chron's disease. I am convinced there is a link between autoimmune diseases.

I have had diabetes for over 26 years and hypothyroidism for over 7 years or so, but not officially diagnosed until two years ago.
