Knoxville 2012 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Together we are making a differences!
This group does not have any discussions yet.
Thanks to both of you for all the great info. It is really helpful to know that we are not the only adults with recent T1 diagnoses and to meet you both in person. I look forward to the next meetings and learning more with you and the others who join us.
myglu.org is another T1 community that I have participated some on if you are interested.
It was great to meet you both tonight! I have been trying to reach out since being diagnosed in February and had given up on any face to face meetings. It helps a lot, somehow, to talk in person with others going through the same thing; internet is great but just doesn't help quite as much. Hope we can continue to meet and possibly find others to invite :)
OK, see you all there. Sorry I have such delayed responses!
ok, 6 p.m. at Cedar Bluff...meet you at the salad bar?
I can do Wednesday... preferably not too late... I actually have that day off..
No idea when you all get off work... so, is 6pm ok? Just throwing it out there
I am good later on this week, say Wed or Thu. The first part of the week is busier. Here is another Jason's FYI...from their web site. When I've eaten there, it was pretty quiet, but school might not have been in session. Knoxville, TN: Cumberland 1.21 Mi
2120 Cumberland Ave, Knoxville, TN
Let me know which one and when you prefer. I am between both of these Jason's, so either one is fine for me.
Jason's Deli at Cedar Bluff?
Karns is not too far from me...I'm in West Knoxville. I could do Turkey Creek easily. Don't know much about food on Clinton Hwy, but would be interested in ideas of where you like to go. My husband's mother was diabetic, so he's following my diet and my son is gluten free/dairy free with an emphasis on healthy foods. We find salads and low carb choices pretty easily at Cracker Barrel. Jason's Deli is good too. Earth Fare has an ok salad bar but not as good as the other two I mentioned. What ideas do you have?
The Market is at 606 High Street, but I think it's lunch only. Well, sounds like you both want evenings? I live in Knoxville and am there at night. I have commitments with my family for evening meals here in Knoxville, so lunches would be the only time that I could make time to drive to Maryville. Sorry we're having trouble finding a good time and place that click. j
