I would have to know you better to really give advice, but it sounds like you need to do more than wait for cooler weather because then another reason for him not to search may pop up.

Hi I am Pamela and both newly diagnosed with type 2 and a newlywed. I am finding stress makes my numbers go up, and we are experiencing alot of financial stress right now. I am a teacher who does not have a full time job because of cutbacks city wide-but I substitute regularly which brings in decent money, but my husband is unemployed and likes to play on the computer most of the day. He has looked for some jobs, but claims it is too hot outside to look for jobs any other places besides the internet..I am frustrated...MY job doesn't start until Aug 20....Any advice would be very welcomed.

My wife wasn't too clear about my diabetes until she became a Type II like me! Now we test, side by side, and compare results! We watch each other for hypo signs, so at least it's not so much on my shoulders any more!

According to the following link, if the body is producing insulin then it's Type 2, but I'm not so sure its as simple as that. Anyway you can do further reading by googling it.

Well I was pretty sure it wasn't something as simple as insulin dependent versus non-dependence...my Spock logic tells me that type does not necessarily equal severity. But i still have a few things I heard about diabetes stuck in my mind from many years ago, some no doubt from when people were generally less elightened.. Funny I have never heard her doctor say anything about type 1 or 2, just gives the appropriate instructions.

I am non diabetic but with some family history; wife of 25 years is T2.I think. Now that's a question to ask on any forum, where is the specific line between T1 and T2?

I'm a non-diabetic, and my husband of 11 years is T1 (diagnosed in his late teens, nearly 30 years ago). I appreciate "both sides" that seem to exist in this forum.

I'm also a non-diabetic but married to a T2. He joined this site and I thought it would be a good idea for me to as well since I really do believe we are in this together. This group was suggested to me as a spouse of a diabetic but definitely seems to be open to both. :)

Emmy- I belong to the group and I am a T-1. My husband doesn't have diabetes. I think it can be any combo as long as you have a spouse.

I hate to cook balanced meals, and being yelled at because I didn't cook more chicken so someone could gorge on it, and not have veggies. :(
