Meet ups

I will be organizing regional meet ups throughout the summer.
Some of the locations I am looking at are:
*Lansing
*Ann Arbor
*Battle Creek/ Kalamazoo
*Tri county area- Wayne, Oakland, Macomb county area (Barb did a great job with this area, if you want Barb, you can organize this one!)**possibly Flint
**possibly Grand Rapids

Possible dates:
*Lansing- June 5th/6th
*Ann Arbor- June 19/20th
*Battle Creek/ Kalamazoo- July 9th/10th
*Tri county area- Wayne, Oakland, Macomb county area- June 19th/20th (opposite day of Ann Arbor) or sometime late July or August
**possibly Flint
**possibly Grand Rapids
If you are interested in any of those locations, please send me a message stating what meet up. If these dates don't work, I'm open to suggestions

Also, if you are not near these areas and would still like to be included, feel free to organize your own meet up and post it in this group or let me know when it is and I'll include it in this area.
if you are not near these areas and no one else lives near you, we can include you in these groups as well...I do have a webcam and we can always connect via skype or yahoo or msn messenger too

I'll be coming up there from Indiana, to do a presentation on the Diabetes Online Community... just wondering if any other adult type 1s will be there. Would be great time for a D-Meetup!Continue

This may be an off-the-wall topic for this group, but my wife and I are looking at getting back to the Detroit area where we're from. I am exploring whether there might be any diabetes-focused opportunities up there (writing, communications, PR, etc) that might fit for someone with a decade of journalism and a handful of years diabetes-blogging and advocating with social media. Let me know if anything comes to mind... thanks!

So... does anyone know of any fundraisers or big events that are anywhere in MI? I live in Canton so the metro detroit area would be best... I am trying to find something but I am getting frustrated with the ADA and JDRF websites because I can't find anything.... please let me know!

Hi Daniel, I started a group that get's together every few months. We just met a coupe weeks ago at a Starbucks along I-75 in Troy. It's really nice to talk in person with others with the same issues. We're thinking about another in Nov. I usually post on the USA-MI page and on the Main T1 page.

Hello everyone. I haven't been on here for awhile and see that I was invited to join this Michigan group. I live in Fenton, MI. I've been diabetic close to 18 years now and wear a Medtronic pump and sensor. Thanks for the invite and hope to here from you all. I'll check back in a few days.

Hey Frank, welcome. I remember not so long ago telling my cardiologist who is concerned about my lipids and triglycerides. "What's the goo of living if you have to deny yourself everything?"

That was before being DX'd with diabetes. Funny thing happened. I don't mind denying myself things anymore. The big D scares me more than my heart disease.
