Hi all ... I just moved to DC from the NYC area and looking for a new D team.  I have seen the recommendations on here and will check them out but I was hoping for the moon :)

Some of my (non diabetic) coworkers tell me that they have a network of doctors within the same building and they dont have to run from one place to another for different visits (they just walk down the hallway :)  ... was wondering if there was something like that around here for Diabetics?  Anyone aware?

I am on the omnipod, 28yo, and love sports (biking, running, hiking ...) Looking for an endo that is forward thinking and hopefully does some of these activities ... any recommendations??

Thanks!

I live in Alexandria and see Dr. Caroline Huang at Arlington Hosp Center. There are a few all in one shops and most doctors are now required to refer in house so they keep the $$ flowing in their hosp. I might be abel to help you better if I know what area of DC you are looking to focus on.
Hi Ann, I live in Columbia Heights and actually work close to Silver Springs MD
My endo from up here (MA) moved down to DC. His name is Michael Thompson and works now at GWU. I don't know much about that facility, but when he was at Umass it was a good one-stop set-up. He's very willing to listen to your ideas, to discuss any aspect of your care, and most importantly to empower you to get the best results possible. I worked in the research division at Umass at the time and can tell you that he is also committed to clinical research. He's one great guy!
