I ended up changing the infusion set at 2:30 am. Would anyone like to share their experiences when they accidentally pulled out the cannula for the infusion set? Did you have a back up available? At least I was at home. If I pulled it out at work, it would be a problem.

722 approaching 8 years. Although sweating is a big problem, never lost one . The few times it did accidentally pull out, every incident involved pets at home. (2 dogs 3 cats). Their combined intelligence is equal to a rock, so I have learned to be very cautious around our furry family members.

Keep a couple in a small makeup bag, along with everything you need to make a change. Even a couple of syringes. Easy to transport and it really helps.

I prefer to leave most supplies at home. I needed an extra Quick Serter for a travel pack like you suggested, I have one in the car now. I do have syringes in my purse, but I never used them. Syringes don't come small enough to allow correction boluses less than 1 unit. They would work for a meal bolus though and that's a possible back up too.
