When I first learned to use my Medtronic Pump, 16 years ago, my endocrinologist sent me home with a "loaner" filled with saline to practice with. Perhaps some Docs still practice that way and if they have more than one variety of pumps you could try it that way. If not I would call the company and ask about it. I know Medtronic has great educational programs, maybe something you are looking for. The other companies might also. Medtronic has offered to send a local rep to my house to help with problems I have experienced, although I never used that service, I know it is there.
Either way, you will need help from a Diabetic Educator trained for pumps and sensors when you first learn to use the pump and sensor. I think it is a very difficult thing to try on your own and can be dangerous too.

I recently did an Animas demo, but I am not sure that you can demo CGM... I would say, figure out who your rep is and ask them.

i have the medtronic pump with CGM, it can be a bit finicky at times, partly because calibration between vials of test strips (which weren't that accurate to begin with) and because i'm still honeymooning so i don't have consistent carb/insulin ratio from day to day. i'm just into my third month with this setup but it's caught 4 overnight lows, so it's worth the hassle.
can't wait for the US to get the enlite sensors (i think they're already available in Canada)
