I attempted to install the software this morning and after an hour of it saying "please wait" I gave up and went to work. Did it take anybody else a long time to load it all?

I use https://carelink.minimed.com
I'm not aware of stand-alone software. Or at least, I didn't get an installation disc.

That's what I'm using too. I registered and then it had me download Java which only took a minute or so. I logged in my pumps serial # and all that jazz and then to proceed it said to not plug in the USB and said please wait for over an hour. Not sure what it's doing.
I had some issues with it also. I think I had to download an updated Java reader. I can't really say how I finally got t ito work though.

Sometimes Carelink does not work when an updated version of Java is not in their program. It should work or call Medtronic Customer service.

You must have misread the screen. After Java loads and you input the information about your pump, you are told to insert the carelink into a USB port. If you do hot do so, there is no way that your pump can communicate with your computer.

Well it said not to insert it yet and had a cartoon pic of someone inserting the USB with a big red X over it. I guess it wanted to finish loading (whatever the heck it was loading) and then have me insert the USB.

I will have to play with it some more when I get home &figure out if I got the right Java.

Call them.... It can be a result of the Operating system you are using and the version of the Browser. I had trouble on 1 of 3 PC's I installed it on and they walked thru and fixed the issue while I was on the phone.

Hello Samantha
Yes, when I first installed Carelink over 3 years ago, I encountered similar challenges. I suggest you call the Customer Service # and ask for some help. I really enjoy Carelink, it helps me out allot!
Best of luck
Jed

I had it installed, upgraded my computer, and then could not after days and days of trying get it installed again. Somehow the Java required would not be installed (although I never have problems with any other programs) - I think it is something wrong with the program and some computers. I called their tech several times and nothing worked. Finally I installed it on my husband's computer and it works there so I have to use that computer whenever I want to download. A bit of a pain but it works. Something with their program is a problem with some computers so it is probably not anything you are doing!

well i successfully installed everything, but my reports all say no data =(
guess i'll be calling minimed soon!

From what I understand, the flash drive is not for installing the software. It's a wireless receiver for you to transmit data from your pump to Carelink via your computer. The steps you went through initially with the flash drive were to install the driver for the wireless receiver - the program that allows the receiver to operate on your computer. I generally leave the receiver in my computer at all times.
