Using a Paradigm 554 and Elight sensors. Anyhow, the issue I'm having is the data downloads off the pump. All the useful info from periods when the sensor is active is gone, totally! No carb intakes (all n/a), no insulin, no normal BG tests. NOTHING but the sensor line which is utterly useless without any of the rest. Same goes at the DSN's (CDE's). All the data seems to of been nuked.
Anyone got any ideas other than my pumps on it's last legs already?
Data on pump is stored for about 2-3 months, perhaps even less. Before there was CGMS data, data on MM was stored for about 2-3 months. Perhaps now this interval is shorter since it contains both data...
As for downloading data. Perhaps you need to download Pump data separately from CGMS data. I am not sure how CareLink work excatly, since I don't own it. I know that on some programs, you need to download data separately. I own Aviva Combo pump, and I must download data from pump and from meter separately (my software then merges data, buit I need to make to separate downloads... yes I know annoying...
Oh and another thing. When you remove battery from MM, data is lost quite soon (perhaps in few hours, I haven't tested this, but I borrowed a pump for testing and it didn't have baterry inside, so all history data was lost).
I don't know where you got the information about losing data/history after changing the battery--I have been using a minimed over 2 years, changing the battery every month or so, and have never lost any data, even after several weeks have passed after a battery change.
I don't think Andy was meaning when you change the battery, remove the old battery and replace it straight away with a fresh one but I think he was meaning when a battery is removed and NOT replaced. Without a new battery in place the pumps memory will be lost after a period of time.
Yes. That was what I meant. I think you have few hours time to change the battery, but after that data is lost. Since we all change battery in under a minute we of course don't loose any data.
sorry, we're still suck with the older paradigm and sof-sensors here.
when i upload data to carelink, it's only grabbing the new records and everything is still on the pump.
is your data available on the carelink site?
The CareLink claims it can download over 6 months of data...the oddity though is the fact this is the first time it's lost carb and insulin details while a CGMS was active. Normally it keeps both which is the anomaly in this. There is readings and data though for a couple of months before the lost data, it's just the period of 2 weeks where the CGMS is active, that insulin, carb and finger blood tests are n/a as the data outputs put it...which is more curious is that the sensor readings themselves are giving other data I've either not noticed or appeared, in that it's giving the sensors current reading at each point (am thinking I've more ignored this till now though).
Yes, I've tried to upload it to the CareLink site but am getting the same results as I got at my CDE's (which was the first time she had seen something like this). Battery changes are usually done in under 30 seconds as never leave it till completely drained and go off the warnings for remaining duration. Yet no data has been lost before through a battery change.
Sadly missed the tech support line at Medtronic this week due to work, so will see if they have any comments come Monday when it reopens. Not going to bother the emergency help line though as it's not one since it is still working.
Well, it all turned out to be how the pump rewrites it's logs. Not oldest getting over written first which would of made too much sense, it prioritises differing types of data, with the sensor readings being the most important...thus saved in this case. Medtronic couldn't answer why there was food and insulin readings from before the period where the data was missing, but overall they put it down to priority of the data...Namely the stuff I actually wanted wasn't a priority to it hmph! Hey ho, live and learn and such.
