I guess it depends on the dress your wearing. Do you have a pic of it? I've been thing of making some kind of belt that I could attach a pouch to. That might work?
Better yet ask the bridal shop whoever it is that does the alteration if they can help find a solution :)
I have only worn 2 dresses since being on the pump (10 yrs!). Both times I wore a thong and attached it that way... most recently this past Saturday on my wedding day!
If it does not show too much, I have worn it in my bra or inside my nylons.
Or, Medtronic makes a velcro band that fits around your thigh for the pump, it is very adjustable and can be worn on other areas of the leg. Look on ther website under accessories.
There is also one for the waist but that would probably show ubder a formal dress.
I have worn a pump for 16 years and under all kinds of garments, with the clip off it fits into a lot of places.
I have also heard of others who have removed the pump and taken repeat injections of humalog after checking BG's. I would think that would have to be approved by your doctor.
Hope this helps.
I was going to do that... Lantus with Novolog... but clipping it on to the thong worked so there was no need. I tried the leg band but it kept sliding down my thigh no matter how tight I made it.
My daughter wears biker shorts under her dresses and wears her pump in the waistband of the shorts. A friend wears her pump in her bra, We love dresses with pockets--open the seam in the pocket and voila! easy access to the pump. Since it is a bridesmaids dress, maybe you could have an opening created...talk to a tailor!
I know one girl who bought a couple of pairs of Spandex bike shorts and clipped the pump upside down to the leg of the shorts. The pump was easily accessible if necessary. I haven't actually bought any yet, but like the idea, because I've used the leg/thigh thing, and find it uncomfortable.
Hi, it DOES really depend on the dress. Several options I use:
clip to front of bra with minimed clip
clip to underwear
thigh band - http://www.pumpwearinc.com/pumpshop/index.php?l=product_detail&...
bra pocket for wearing pump without clip - http://www.pumpwearinc.com/pumpshop/index.php?l=product_detail&...
and with one particular dress, I clip it under the arm (it's sleeveless) so that the pump is on the inside of the dress.
Hope this helps, feel free to message me for clarification.
I am having the same issue, but I am mother of the groom. My dress is long and I am wondering how I will wear my pump. I will be wearing spanks (I love them) maybe I can put in into the top of them. But when I eat I will have go to the restroom to use my pump. If I put it in my bra, I would still have to go to the restroom, I don't want to pull it out of my bra in front of all the guest!!
Any other ideas?
Last year I was a bridesmaid/maid of honor/sister of the bride in Jamaica. I wore a long one strap dress. I wore spanx type shorts and put my pump in the shorts (nylon) near the bottom of the shorts toward the knee. To use my pump I checked my bg and bolus flipping up my dress (under the table of course) a little to give a bolus to see the pump - but have also thought about doing an easy bolus under my dress. Another option is using the minimed remote.
The older models of the medtronic had a remote you could use to give yourself a bolus without removing the pump.. I have wondered why they discontinued that. It worked off of the Easy Bolus which you can preset.
Any piece of under wear that is elastic and therefore binding can be used,
as the pump is pretty slim with the clip removed.
Us women are always given a challenge, wonder what the men do? Of course, they always have pockets!! :)
I hadn't heard of a remote for the pump. That would be awesome!
