I didn't like the IV3000 tape. See if your nsurance company will cover 3M's Tegaderm. I think it's better than IV3000 in every way.

My insurance won't cover it, either. So I'm joining this conversation to see if anyone else has had success in getting it cheaply! Good luck to both of us!

Have you tried appealing your insurance company choices? Will you doctor write a letter prescribing the IV3000 for yor pump infusion set

It has been a while since we discuss this in the pump support group but, have you tried calling you local pharmacies for generic versions? I seen to remember one of the major local pharmacies selling an off brand of the IV3000.

Good news also the new sensors that are supposed to come out at the first part of next year will not need IV3000s, they have a tape that goes over the transmitter to hold it into place. I went to an expo this last weekend and the Medtronics person was wearing the new sensor. I can't wait for the new sensors to come out. Unfortunately they can't give out the date that they are going to start sending them out.

Currently, the price is $38 for a box of 100, though it tends to fluctuate at times. Ordering through Medtronic is about double that.

I don't know how active you are, but I had trouble with those tegaderm patches creating an environment like a terrarium, especially when running hard, rowing, or mountain climbing, and then the adhesive on the sensor won't hold.
My solution, very cheap too, as it happens, is to use 3M Nexcare tape. I cut two pieces; a shorter one to hold down the sensor end. Then another, longer piece (about 2") over the opposite end on the transmitter. Cost is negligible and no more problems. It is a little more fiddly to put on, but not more so than the patches.
I have done this for the past 5 months, living on a sailboat, and have a good experience so far.

I didn't like the IV3000 tape, in fact, I hated it. I used tape for a while, but my skin didn't like that either. I went to Walgreens and found the Tegaderm 3M's, which I love, and just went to buy some more today. Never even thought to try Amazon though. Will do that next time.

Each of us is different -- I'm violently allergic to Tegaderm, but do just fine with IV3000. And I'm glad to know that Amazon sells tapes -- that means that we can each find which tape works best for us! :-)

Many people like Opsite Flexifit. It's cheaper to use and comes on a roll in different widths

LOVE Opsite Flexifit. I use it on my Dexcom sensor. The stuff lasts forever.
