I was hooked up on Thursday and aside from nearly dropping in the toilet I am already in LOVE! I ran 2.0 miles and did not have to wolf down 45 grams of carbs just to sustain healthy BG's, I just set a temp basal to 25%..so awesome.
I might need to tweek my overnight basal as I dropped low last night and I am sitting at 76 right now...Which is odd because on MDI NPH I required more during this time of day...

It's been a long time (30 years?) since I took NPH, but I think you'll find there will be a pretty big difference between using the basal rate adjustments (temp basal, etc) and a fixed duration/onset/etc insulin like NPH or Lente. I believe you'll find it crazy just how much adjusting you can do to fine-tune your pumping.
For example, and this is not just basal, but what you ate before dropping low might also have been a factor. So, perhaps using the square or dual wave bolus features might have been an option.
There's just so much you can do to try to make things better.
Personally, I'm finding the same is true of CGM. I've had one for about 2 months and the info provided and ability to further fine tune management is pretty amazing!
Good Luck!
Dave
