I am thinking of getting a Remote and was wondering if anyone can share how they like theirs? Do you find it helpful or is it just another piece of diabetic equipment to keep track of? Is there anything you don't like about it? Thanks for any input.

I loved my remote. It used to come free with the pump years ago and then when I switched from MM to Cozmo I gave mine away. Now that I'm back on a minimed, I've wished I had that remote SO many times. But I'm about to switch away from MM again so I don't want to spend the money.

The remote really came in handy when my pump was hidden and usually when I was wearing dresses. If your pump is always out and accessible you don't need it as you can achieve the same effect by utilizing the easy bolus.

Hope that helps.

Thank You for sharing your thoughts. Since I often wear my pump in my bra, it is a bit embarrassing to be fumbling under my T-shirt for my pump. I just had not heard anyone mention having a remote.

I have had a remote for years but not used much as never got in habit and the events I wear pump hidden (rarely) are not ones I want my big bulky keys, which with remote on they become, with me. Guess I should figure out where put remote separate from keys and see if remote can recalibrate to my latest of replaced MM pumps (due to pump failure)

What happened to make your pump fail? I also had my pump fail earlier this year. In my case the buttons just froze up, and I could not move from one screen to another. Called tech support and went through their entire menu of helpful suggestions. Finally tech support said "we will send you a replacement pump" and they did within 24 hours. Scared me a lot at the time.

I've had 8 pump failures in the last 18 months. CS has been great and replacements arrive quickly, but I'm now convinced there's a QC issue. I'm switching to another pump manufacturer in September. Mine have been mostly been button errors and battery errors.

I guess at this point, if I were you, I would be quite discouraged. I can see why you are switching to another pump manufacturer.
