I just found out Minimed is releasing 722's in PINK now - I know it is soooo silly, but I really wanna trade my clear pump for a pink. Does anyone know if they will be willing to trade? I plan to call in the morning, but just wondered if anyone else had ever done this.

I know the color doesn't matter, but I have had clear pumps since Minimed stopped making the cool Green color (my last green pump was a 507C). I want this PINK bad - it is awesome!

Hope you guys aren't laughing at me too much...:)

I'm a guy and I'm not laughing. If changing the color of your pump makes you feel better and forget about D for just a few minutes a day I'm all for it. I hope they let you do it without charges. I saw the pink one at an expo in May and thought it looked kinda cute. The kids will get a kick out of it too! Me just the basic black one and no skins.

The 800 helpline folks could not help me with a pump trade, so they referred me to the local rep. He is now supposed to be looking into it for me, but did not sound very hopeful - and he hasn't called me back yet, so I don't know if there is any progress. He tried to sell me on "skins", but I am hoping he can make the pink pump work out. This is my third Minimed pump - you'd think brand loyalty would have its rewards - I hope it does!

The skins do look kinda cool (especially the personalized ones with your own photo), but the picture is mainly on the back of the pump and I always leave the pump clip hooked on (even though I usually have my pump tucked in a pocket), so it wouldn't do me much good - you would never really see the photo. I'll let you guys know what happens....

Minimed will not do the trade - I am bummed, but I think I will try the skins out and see what I think. It really does not make me happy that I am a nine year customer on my third pump from Minimed and they will not help me out with this. Oh well...not the end of the world, but a bummer to my vain side!

Their is nothing silly about that. I have a name for my pump. She is a girl pump. I told my wife, I have a second marraige with out cheating on her. I know this sounds silly, I could never get rid of my, unless my diabetes left me. That of course will never happen. So in the mean time, Antranette and I will always be connected avout 23 hours a day......

I think the pink, is really pretty, And I figure, If youi have to wear something for the rest of your life, why not make it fun. Mines clear to, so I totally understand. I would give it a try.

Ok, I cheated a bit here, but I told em that my pump was not working right, that the screen was a funny iridescent color and I could not see the screen very well.. I had a purple one that I was ok with, but I love pink, so when they said I was under warranty and did I want a replacement, I kind of just said..can I get one in pink, I just saw them the other day online and thought they were adorable.. she said, let me see what I can do and she said, yep I can get you a pink one..problem solved.. see, ya gotta be slick with them.. make em think you need a new one.. ta da!!!!

Maybe it is just me but I'd feel guilty about ripping the company off like this and everyone end up paying for it in some way in the long-run.

But we are all different and what makes some people stop and think others wouldn't bat an eyelid i guess.

i want a pink pump but i think i can wait my warranty is up in july so i hope i get a new one then i dont kow how that works cuz this is my first pump and it is blue

When your warranty is up and you are able to get a new one, you can pick whatever color you want. It's like starting fresh :) I still want a pink pump, but I have three more years until my warranty is up, so I am just sucking it up and dealing with it.
