Problems?
Has anyone ever had any malfunction problems with this pump aside from no delivery (bad site) was just in DKA because of pump malfunction. Very nervous to go back to Medtronic. Could use any input thanks :)

I've had a number of MM pump malfunctions but none that resulted in my not getting insulin (thank goodness). I'm guessing that's not a frequent occurrence at all...

I have been on the MM pump for 18 yrs and I was always taught that if you have 2 unexplained supper high blood sugar readings that you inject a correction bolus with a needle and change your set. Every once and a while I will get a clogged site but very few. How far in between did you check your blood? The pump is not perfect but it is a great tool

I've used Medtronic insulin pumps for about 11 years now, and I've never had any kind of pump malfunction. Yes, I have had bad sites, but that's not the pump. That's simply me, due to scar tissue in some spots. Of course, in those cases, I've always switched out those sites pretty quickly and taken a correction bolus to bring down any high blood sugars.
Do you use a continuous glucose monitor with your pump? If not, then I'd definitely recommend it. The CGM has been a real life-saver for me, many times over, as I have hypoglycemic unawareness at times. But CGM's also work just as well to alert a person to high blood sugars.

I had problems with my Paradigm pump slowing delivery when there was 20 units or less left in the reservoir, and several replacements did the same thing. It may have been a problem with the older version. I am on a pump vacation at the moment but do plan to continue with Medtronic when I go back on, mostly because of their very good customer service. The old pump went past warranty and I decided it's time for an upgrade - I'm hoping I won't have the same problem with the new one. Interested to see what others say.
