Im going back on the pump and was doing my research on the pump companies and decided on the Medtronic Revel System. The main thing I wanted was the integrated CGMS in the pump. I spoke to a Medtronic rep today and my pump should be here in about a week or so. I'm applying for the assistance program also. A couple questions for anyone who has the Revel System, how do you like the pump n CGMS? Is anyone on the Assistance Program and how is it?

Love it !  As any technology of this type , Yes I do have some minor problems, but more then 50% of those are self induced.

Read the various blogs and posts on issues such as Insertion time ( try and keep 6 hours from insertion and start to 2 calibration,  extending the days, Tapes and covers etc to find what will work for you and your life style.

Also consider alternative suppliers such as Solara etc vs Medtronics for your consumables. Many offer Better service and lower pricing to you.I am not on the assistance program so cannot comment on that.

Good Choice ...

I have a revel and love it; I decided not to get the CGMS because I am pleased with the my current Dexcom. 7 day sensors have there advantages and for me I don't mind carrying two devices. I have had 4 medtronic pumps over the years and if I had an issue the support team was always great. My last pump a 722 did not give me any trouble for the 4 years I carried it. I never picked up the phone for support at all; my 712 had a few mirror quirks in the beginning; but otherwise the units have been pretty trouble free.

I am hard on my pumps too they get scratched and handled rough at times too.
