I just started pumping with the minimed right before Turkey day-litereally...on Wednesday!

I'm just having trouble sleeping with the sucker on. Anyone got any ideas for me? I'm a tummy sleeper, and putting it on my top just kinda digs into my arm...

Thanks tons!

Thanks, Rob. Gonna try that tonight. This is my first week with a pump, and to be honest, I haven't had a decent night's sleep all week! I think I'm afraid I'm going to roll over on the pump or tangle the tubing, etc. In time I'm sure I'll be used to it. But in the meantime....I'm beat! Thanks for your response. Take good care. ---Anthony
Rolling over on the pump won't hurt it. The tubing can take a lot of tangling and even knots that you haven't pulled tight.
Thanks, Chris. It's nice to talk to someone (you) that is experienced in these matters. I just changed my infusion set and thought I was going to give up half way through. The Medtronic instructions are horrible. I had to call the CDE at my doctor's office for help. In the literature, Medtronic refers to a CD, but it's not with my equipment...I think I'll call them and ask about it. Thanks again, Chris....appreciate your help and sorry to be a bother. ----Anthony
I think the CD is the offline equivalent of the online pump training. I went through training off a CD for the 722, but used the online training for the 723.

I would think you could find some non-Minimed videos like
http://www.1happydiabetic.com/apps/videos/videos/show/5013311-vlog-... for changing silhouette infusion sets.
Ok, will take a look...thanks again, Chris.
yes next time you change your infusion set, try and brake the old tube or knot it and see how strong it is....packrat
in 5+ years, i think i've only pulled out 2 or 3 sites by rolling over in my sleep. what's more likely to happen is the pump getting too far away from my sensor, and getting a "weak signal" alarm.
Ahhh....good to know. Hopefully I'll be able to get a decent sleep tonight. Otherwise the people I work with are going to send me away...talk about irritable...geez. Thanks, Geoffrey. ---Anthony
Hi. As I recently recommended in a discussion re wearing a pump, try looking at Spibelt.com. They make unisex belts with pouches for runners, and now have a belt made specifically for pumps. You can move the pump anywhere around your waist and it stays comfortably in place, day or night.
Thanks, Trudy....will take a look...appreciate the suggestion. ---Anthony
If I am sleeping on my tummy, I put my pump under my pillow. The rest of the time, I just clip it to my waistband and it works fine. It won't hurt it if you roll over on it.
I always wear pajama pants with a string made into the waist band, like on jogging pants. I just tie an extra knot in the string and clip the pump on it. It is loose enough to turn side to side and never lose it or tangle the tubing.
