The first one I opened I had to throw away because I couldn't figure it out. Then I was told about the educational video on the Minimed website. It was very, very, very helpful. I put my laptop where I could watch it step-by-step for my next 2 inserts and they went off without a hitch. I love the fact that I can keep extras at work or in my car and not have to worry about an inserter. I also like the longer tubing which I learned to keep in a spiral instead of straightening it out, it seems to 'tuck out of the way' better that way and it is definately easier for me to get dressed/undressed with the longer tubing.

I have been on the Mio sincce it first came out almost two years ago around the same time I got my pump. I used the Animas insets before with my Cozmo pump and the insets are identical to the Mio so it was pretty easy to use. The Mio is pretty much the best set I have ever used. The Mio is actually slightly better than the Inset also IMHO.

I switched to the Mios about 4 months ago. The directions were hard to follow at first but some of the user videos on youtube were better. I originally wasn't going to use them because of the plastic waste but they're recyclable (I pull the needles out first). Super convenient to carry around and easier to use than Quicksets.

love the mios. Clearly, they are a huge waste of packaging and need a tutorial to open and prep and insert. That said, I like them better than all others.

Just started on the Minimed last week using the Mio. Looks much easier than the silhouette. Found this helpful YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNcaUtZxKJU

There is also info on Metronic site.

does anyone use MIO & do you like it or not?

ew, sounds like maybe you hit a lymph node. That's another benefit of the Mio, the cannula is short so you probably wouldn't have that trouble.

Thx everyone for your comments and suggestions!!--I have a couple Mios that Minimed sent--but haven't tried yet--sounds like I need to get on it!! My upper thigh is working good so far--phew. I just recently had an insertion site near my frontal armpit puffy tissue area turn into a giant hard lump that is so painful and sore--I only had the site in for one night--anyone had this happen?? wondering if I hit a gland--no more pit-puff sites for me!! torso's done... man--there's not much left!
