Carol, Are you hitting scar tissue? That is my first guess. When are you receiving the no delivery alarm? If it is a random event then it may be scar tissue? I would recomend that you rotate your sites away from the areas that are causing problems and give them a long time to heal/recover. I would also recomend that you call medtronic and tell them you are having problems with infusion sets. I did almost a year ago and they sent me 2 free samples of their other infusion sets. Maybe switching to another infusion set may be helpful?

I have a new Paradigm 554 for 3 weeks. Out of the 8 times that I have changed site I have had 4 no delivery alarms. I am using the same Quick Set, 397600, 23 in. 9mm, and 326A Reservoir that I have used with my previous pump. The expiry dates are 2013 and 2014. Yesterday, after the no delivery alarm, I pushed insulin through manually until I saw drops, then set the pump to go through the reservoir + set routine again, and it said insert into body. However, it did not work and BG sky rocketed quickly. So changed site once again. Any ideas or suggestions?

If you beep going thru metal detector you will be patted down. I put my pump on suspend, in a ziplock bag and in my carryon . After I go thru security I put it back on. Works great for me.

Denys, which airport in New York are you flying through? I find security at NYC airports to be quite easy. Because of the sheer volume of passengers, they try to make the process as quick as possible. I flew out of Newark a couple of weeks ago, some lines have full-body scanners, others have traditional metal detectors. If you can spot the line with the old metal detector, choose it. It will go much smoother.

Shoshana27 - I first used the holster and belt clip that came with the pump but I thought they were uncomfortable and I'm not a big fan of the pump being out there for all to see. Then I tried the leg thing which was comfortable and private but not accessible and looks a little funny with shorts. The SPI belt is comfortable, relatively discreet and most of all convenient. It's kind of sporty and the manufacturers seem to be really passionate about making tiny, stretchy fanny packs.

dside, why do you like the SPIBELT better than ANYTHING ELSE?

There was a recent thread on traveling with the pump. A number of people, myself included, reported that TSA agents told them that "everyone goes through the full body scanner (FBS) with the pump." Please don't do this. Medtronic advises not to subject your pump to x-rays, including the FBS. Get a note from your Dr. saying that you are wearing a pump and that it cannot go through the scanner. Be prepared to be patted down but this is not a big deal. Put anything that shouldn't be x-rayed (back up pump, insulin, sensors) in a separate bag and hand it to the agent and say, "I'd like these to be hand checked, please." It doesn't have to be a big deal but be prepared to stand your ground. Smile, be polite and wait until they do what you ask them to do. I've never had to use the words 'May I speak to a supervisor please" but when dealing with government officials and bureaucrats they are magic words.

Also, love the SPI belt - better than anything else I tried to hold the pump. Wear mine 24/7, except when showering. I'm about 6-8 months into my first one and it's holding up great.
