Comment by Natalie ._c- on January 13, 2013 at 9:08pm I used the Medtronic for about a year and a half, and it was hopelessly inaccurate for me, so I switched to Dex. But I have to say YMMV -- different for different people. And I know of no way to predict. The thing the Medtronic has going for it is the integration with the pump, and the ability to pull up a lot of information on the pump about what your BGs have been. The Dex only shows your current number, and you can estimate where you've been. But since I'm a bit hypo unaware, the accuracy in the low range is the absolute criterion for me, and the Dex wins on that one.
Comment by john on January 9, 2013 at 8:34pm I tried both and found thta the Medtronic was by far the most consistent. They can both be hopelessly inaccurate, despite what they tell you before you buy, but I found Medtronic were much more straightforward to deal with, and quite open about the inaccuracies etc. Dexocm were somewhat disengenuous and, when I pressed them for specific, clear answers, they concluded that I ' was not really interested" whatever that meant. Ultimately, I bought the Medtronic. If you do too, don't hesitate to call their help desk. they have been helpful, generous beyond their warranty, and only too aware of their limitations. Good Luck!
Comment by Herr Pumpernickel on January 9, 2013 at 11:55am Dooie, I've the same dilemma. They're expensive items, CGMS, and I'd like to try before I buy. Simply to find the one that suits me best. With a Medtronic Veo pump, the Enlite would be ideal, but not at the expense of meter accuracy with my blood/body.
Comment by MarysMom on January 9, 2013 at 11:20am Hi Dooie,
I used to use the Decom for my daughter until we switched her to the Medtronic. I liked the Dexcom much, much better for her because you don't have to change the sensor as frequently, and it was much easier to insert. As far as accuracy I have found them both compatible. I like the medtronic because of the convenience of it being integrated with her pump. Good luck!
Dooie I just started the CGM 2 months ago. I am currantly using the complete Medtronic system. So far for me the CGM has been spot on and I have been able to stretch out my sensors for 4-6 days, mostly 5 days between sensor changes. The one thing I have noticed is that my sensors work best on the left side of my body, they are more accurate and they last longer and with less issues i.e. week sesnor etc. Overall I am loving using the CGM, I test less and I am starting to worry less about low sugar. One thing I have learned about reading about all the different CGM systems is that everyone is different some do better with one or the other. Good Luck hope you find what is best for you! :)

Comment by Marfem on December 21, 2012 at 5:26pm Veo is not Revel. It is the International version of a new pump which is awaiting FDA approval along with the new, more accurate and easier to use Enlite sensor.
