I use the custom Skin-Its. Right now I'm sporting an Ed Hardy design that I uploaded and ordered through them. Gets me out of my I Hate Diabetes days.

I kinda want to decorate my pump with rhinestones, like a cell phone... hehe does anyone know if this will effect the warranty?! has anyone else done this? i hate how boring my pump looks lol

In the 5 years I've had a MM pump, I've never had a no delivery alarm for anything other than a bent cannula. Went to Sure-T's and never had a no delivery alarm since. I change my sets every 3-5 days.

I never change an infusion set (Quick-Set) without eating enough carbs to require a 3-unit bolus. This is the amount of "backed up" (undelivered) insulin the MiniMed 522 requires to generate a "No Delivery" alarm. Previously, it would take several hours before I would be notified of a site issue, and at that point the fix was to change the infusion set. No longer a problem!

When I change my infusion set, I give more fixed prime than is suggested. I'm not sure why but I find that I get highs after infusion set changes too and always check two hours afterwards.

If possible try to change just before you give a bolus. Some people suggested that this helps.

Hello everybody,

every time I change my infusion set site my BG goes up (300+) .... It is like the insulin does not work or my body (site) does not absorb the insulin.....

I am using Paradigm 722 / Sof-set Micro QR (MMT-324)

Anybody with the same problem ?...... please advice.

Thanks

My last one was kind of sensitive but it wasn't making me crazy enough to change it and my sugars were good through it. I left it for the 3 days and then changed it out. Good luck!

I sometimes get a painful infusion set. I've come to the conclusion that if it's painful shortly after being put in, it's usually OK and will calm down after a while. If the set is painful or sore when it's getting close to being time to change it anyway (after a couple of days), that's when I need to look out for it being an infection or problem of some sort.

This isn't a hard and fast rule, but it's served me fairly well.

christie, I think if the pain gets really bad, you should change it -- as in, if you can feel the pain whether or not you're touching the site. Since you changed the site yesterday you still have gotten at least one day out of it!!
