I did have my low set to 65 for a while but raised it so it would alert me before it gets low instead of after. It helps me have less extreme lows.

Mine is set to 75 and 170. Snooze for high is 1 hour because it takes time for my insulin to kick in and lower bs. I was over correcting for a while too. It's hard to see the numbers high. I just want to fix em now. :).

To answer Kiminee, my high alarm is set at 160 and my alarm snooze is set for an hour. Once my high alarm goes off I check with a finger stick if I am concerned (sometimes it is soon enough after a meal that I will just watch it). After the finger stick I will treat if needed. This works for me - my BG almost never goes above 200 and is usually below 170 even post meal.

Question for the CGM users. What to you set your high glucose alarm at and how long for the snooze. I think I might have my settings to low and then i tend to over correct. just wondering what most people set their snooze and high settings at on the CGM. Thanks Kim

I feel like everyone who uses a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) loves it. I have not been so lucky. One of the main issues I have with my Minimed CGM is that whenever I go to insert the new sensors using the insertion device the sensor needle CANNOT penetrate the surface of my skin. I click the button and the needle pushes up against my skin but will NOT go in. I try manually pushing in the needle slowly and painfully and..... nothing. Maybe the circumference of the needle is too large or my skin is too taut but it is terrible and I usually give up. Sometimes the metal sensor catheter will even bend :(.
Also I can't stand when it is inserted and functioning and it is constantly beeping and sending alerts. I try to push the ACT ESC to "accept" the warnings and they just keep going off and off and vibrating and beeping... all while I am trying to work. Anyway.. I was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue or if they have any advice for how to get the giant CGM insertion needle to penetrate the skin. Thank-you! -Amy

I have been on a pump for 13 years ... at last I have mastered the way to HIDE my pump with different kinds of clothes ... it is really easy , and I just feel moire comfortable hiding my pump , than havinf something that looks more like an 80's beeper ...
