Hi all! I just joined tudiabetes.org. I live up north, but am working on a health care initiative in the State of Mississippi that brings diabetes self-management education classes to individuals 18 years and older for a period of time. The program is called Mississippi Health First and is being brought to you by a collaborative of Federal and non federal partners that wanted to combine resources in order to reach the most people. To learn more about the program, email mshealthfirst@iqh.org or mshealthfirst@hcdi.com. If you know someone that would benefit from attending these free education classes, please pass the word along!

Hi I am living with the diabetes diagnosis for over 40 years now. Been doing this since 1964 when I was dignosed at the ripe old age of 10 years. Living with the disease has been interesting and I am now a stay at home person since this disease caused me to have lows that left me unconscious and goofy. You see I have hypoglycemia unawareness. And so now I am just doing nothing but enjoying my 2 German Shepherds and taking care of my home. Things have really changed around here with my income gone but you know what God has never given me more than He and I can handle together. It is nice to see there are others here and I do hope to be active with this group. Have a glorious day and remember that smiling gives your soul a chance to be the light for all the world to see. My daughter is a Mississippians with sugarbeetus (unfortunately)!!! We live in the Hattiesburg area.
