I am seeing a new doc who thinks I should get nerve studies for my neuropathy. I take gabapentin and tramadol which are very helpful, esp. at night when trying to sleep. I am also suffering from joint pain at my knees, wrists and elbows (when I wake up and extend them, very painful). So, if I get the nerve studies what is the point and how else can a MD help after this test? My understanding is glucose control, meds and supplements are the treatments. Hate to go through the studies if nothing else can be done. Thanks for any feedback!
