I just signed the petition " Demand FDA require BLACK BOX WARNINGS on ALL FLUOROQUINOLONE DRUGS for Risk of Permanent Central Nervous System & Peripheral Nervous System Damage" on Change.org.
It's important. Will you sign it too? Here's the link:

By any chance have you been on an antibiotic before the diagnosis? Do you have a diet that is far too low in B vitamins? Even though your page says you are on a pump, is there any chance you have also been prescribed Metformin as that has a terrible way of making people very low on B12 as if it is used up in the far higher level of glucagon that the body makes in it's desperation to achieve what it wants yet the metformin drug interferes with Metformin's action.
I can't say I'm happy to join this group because I was diagnosed this past monday with neuropathy but I sure am glad to know that I can find support whenever I need it!

Comment by NPape on September 24, 2012 at 9:10am Currently taking a supplement called Neuravite. Its seems to be helping a little bit everyday. The only way to get it apparently is from their website or a podiatrist. Cheers
Comment by Yvonne on June 27, 2012 at 7:02am When I finally figured out what complex carbohydrates were, began making correct food choices and began exercising after every meal--rode a bike for 2 miles or walked for 2 miles, the pain in my legs stopped and never returned. I was able to get off the pill (forgot what it was) for neuropathy and pills to control my diabetes. I did this for about 8 years. Kept my A1c nice (a little below 6) and was in pretty good shape. Then came a bout with breast cancer. I probably have more neuropathy because of the chemo. Soles of my feet feel like cardboard and have stabbing pains in my left hand. That could be arthritis, Don't know. But. I'm pretty much pain free from neuropathy, I think. I have a lot of numbness in my feet. Exercise helped me a lot. I don't do that much anymore. Am 76 and have a very bad back, but I may be forced to if my insurance no longer pays for my meds, and I suspect that is going to happen very soon.
Comment by stacey on April 15, 2012 at 5:40am you can call who makes that it and see if they will help you pay for it that is how i get my insulin
Comment by Akiva on April 15, 2012 at 1:57am Has anyone tried neuroveen? I have been looking for alternative or supplementary treatments for my neuropathy as I am reaching the end of my insurance plan coverage on my meds and cannot afford to pay the cost of the Lyrica without coverage.
Comment by Mike on November 30, 2011 at 6:19am Oh almost forgot, the lower your carb intake the less neuropathic pain. if i eat a pasta dish look out. I know it's all in my head LOL
