New To The Pump

It can be such a major decision to start the pump, so much to learn and share. Maybe we can all make the adjustment a little easier if have one another to lean on.

I guess that is the way it will be for me too. I'll start with the one pattern than adjust. I do know my morning sugars are higher than the rest of the day though. I start my classes tomorrow evening with Alicia Voyer. Wish me luck.

i am finally realizing that the changes i needed to make were both I:C ratio's and basal rates. right now my basal rates are good i am just working on my I:C. :D

i have one basal rate for the entire day right now.
my doc wants to see some base line sugars for the first week i suppose.
so i havent started my own tweaks yet.
but if you go about it this same way
you can see patterns for different times of the day.

Well I received my pump Tues. it is a animus ping. I chose the pink one, I am not hooked up yet, I am still waiting on my classes.

Hello my name is Cathy, I have always had trouble controlling my sugars for 10 years. My Dr. says it is time for a pump and is sending me to see an endo in April. So I am trying to decide which pump I want the ping or omni. I am having a hard time making up my mind.

i love the idea of being on the pump, cause you really don't have anything to worry about cause you have the insulin at all times.

I have been on the pump for a day and a half (thank you Ping!) and I already love it! I have never been SO excited about a medical device!! I am so thankful for this community because you know the joy! I want to tell everyone that I am now on a pump and I realize that nobody (other than parents - my Dad is SUPER excited! - and husband) really care! I don't know anyone in my area that is a type 1 on the pump (I know 2 other type ones in my area!)
