I've been at this since 1958. Almost kicked in 1978. Still strong with no comps. Just keep beating the odds. YoGi life will be as long as you want it to be JUST DO IT! Clarence how may I be helpful in your education efforts etc.

i am a young indian male from capital delhi .i was diagnosed 3 years back now i m 21 years old.. i didnt took it seriously first, acted normal but i was realy starting to going down.. then i had to accept it & find the right solution. at first i tried realy hard to control it just from dieting and exercises but it didnt realy helped.. me so i started to take insulin injection and i still taking injection like every day before meals. & it realy hels..
sometime i just ask myself how much time do i hv & d only answer i find is not much. so i actualy pretend to be happy & normal every day..but i m happy when i completly forget about it . so i try not to think about it that much & just live with it..

Greetings from TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, where INSULIN was discovered by BANTING & BEST, JULY 30 1921. You really dont know how glad I am to be able to share my 91 years of wisdom and experiences with those who are hurting and suffering because of lack of proper info and education. I am a computer rookie, who has found a way to mentor to others. I was clinically dead, in BOSTON, after driving 400 miles from MONTREAL with a BG of 880 in 1977.Since then I have been on a fantastic journey of being a ROLE MODEL to over 40.000 diabetics, and growing, and found a way to share with members from area that are high in diabetes, I ask them "what do you need in your area to improve your diabetes prevention & awareness program? also "what do you know? On JULY 30 INSULIN APPRECIATION DAY, I will be asking insulin-users, worldwide to join me, in silence, to say THANKS, for INSULIN giving hundreds of millions of US a chance to love healthy and productive lives,TODAY. AMIGOS will be selling BLUE ROSES to raise funds for the BANTING HOMESTEAD.Our chose of the flower was of its meaning, "ATTAINING THE IMPOSSIBLE" our motto and mission.Would it be possible for members to call 5 DIABETICS in your area to spread INSULIN APPRECIATION DAY, and ask each person to call 5 diabetics? By JULY 30, we hope to circle the world with diabetics, saying THANKS. Keep In Touch clarence.haynes@ sympatico

Thanks Noor for inviting me to this group =]

I found out I was diabetic just this past January actually. I was always thirsty, always going to the bathroom, upset stomach, felt like I was going blind. I went to the dr's and they never really took it seriously. I had a kidney infection prior to that, so the lady just put me on more antibiotics without a UA or anything, and she also said it could be parasites. So I threw the lab paper and perscription paper up knowing that she was full of it.
Few weeks later, I woke because I had to use the bathroom, and I ended up walking into walls. I told my boyfriend, I have to go to the ER. Something is wrong.
Well when I got there they did all there tests and told me I was on the verge of going into a diabetic coma.
I was shocked. I know this sounds ignorant, but I honestly didn't think I could get diabetes.
Its been a bumpy road, but I feel like I'm doing better. And let me tell you, this site and everyone involved is a blessing to me, because I dont know what I would have done without it.

So thank you all for all of the support. You guys totally rock! =]

Hey guyz,
i ve been dx with Diabetes since Feb 2002. i took really good care of it for the fist couple of years (because i was just a 10 yrs old and my mother was helping me alot with it) and as i grew older my mum became less involved and i became more careless. And by being carless i mean eating whatever i want without taking any insulin ( i only took insulin before my meals) and testing my bg like once every 3-4 weeks.
after i found out that my last a1c was 8.2 i decided that thats not what i want! I dont want to have a limb cut off, or lose my eyesight or die young..
so i started by testing my bg once before every meal and now i test even more (sometimes i test just because im curious :D).
Im even considering getting a pump..

this site is awesome :]
thanx for the support ( i feel better now )
take care :)

Hello my dear friends,

i'm very happy to read about your experiences with diabetes.

i have had diagnosed since1993==>it's along time.
i was going to the bathroom for many times at the day,our neighbour was a student in a callege,he was very smart so,he told my father that maybe i'm a diabetic. my father took me to the doctor because he was scared about me.
the doctor said to my father:"your beautiful child has diabetes"!!!!.
my father was very sad and my mother was crying all the time.
for that,my parents started reading books about diabetes.
for my parents,i was ababy so it was very difficult to give me the syringes.
when i was10 years old,i took the first syringe by myself,i was very happy..
after3days,i lost my sight for ten hours because i took the insulin and i forgot to eat, they took me to the hospital because my life was in danger!!!.

i was playing with diabetes and many dangerous things happened to me but what i learn is"DIABETES IS A SOUL INSIDE MY BODY SO,I SHOULD TAKE CARE OF IT TO BE IN THE SAVE SIDE"

FOR ALL,"LIVE YOUR LIFE AS YOU WISH BUT DON'T FORGET TO TAKE CARE OF DIABETES;
BECAUSE DIABETES CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'ER FEELING"..
