Hi all

I've also posted this in the General Area. I am going to be doing a Type 1 Women's Support Group which is sponsored by the JDRF. The first meeting will be on Saturday 9/4 at 11AM at the Berkeley Library Branch on University at San Pablo. At that time I'll ask the people who attend if they would like to have the group biweekly or monthly and if that day and time are good. If you have any questions about this planned group, let me know. I'm excited about it!

Hi Zoe,

I'll be out of town on that date but would love to be kept in the loop.

Thanks,
Valerie
Will do, Valerie. I had another woman call me who can't come that day and she said a weekday evening would work better for her. If you have a day and time preference, let me know as well and I'll bring the list to the group.
Zoe, I'm SO excited about this!! Can't wait for September now!! Thanks for setting this up.. I am really in need of meeting other type 1's so I can stop feeling so alone.

Excellent, Jessica! See you then!
Unfortunately, nobody showed up for the first group, perhaps because I scheduled it for Labor Day Weekend. A couple people had called to say they were interested, but couldn't make it. I've scheduled the next one For Saturday 10/16 at 11AM at the Berkeley library, 1125 University, just east of San Pablo. Let me know if you have any questions.
I would love to join you (talk about perfect! even walking distance from my home) and have marked my calendar for the 16th - I have not been tracking TuDiabetes so I missed the last notice.

Have you shared the date with the folks at the Diabetes Center on Telegraph?

I know nothing about a Diabetes Center on Telegraph! (My PCP is on Telegraph and Derby). Tell me more about it please.

I look forward to seeing you on the 16th!
I have gotten many e-mail RSVPs to my announcements so look forward to a great group on Saturday! At that time I'll ask people if another day or time would work better (3 people have said they can't do Saturday mornings). Hope to see some TuD's there!
Hey everyone. I had 14 people at my Type 1 Women's group today. What an amazing group. Age ranges from 20 to 80, diagnosis time from 5 months to 50 years. It's so nice to spend 90 minutes talking to other Type 1 women! The next group is scheduled for 11/13 at 11AM at the West Branch Berkeley Library. Let me know if you want to come or be put on our e-mail list!
Zoe thanks for pulling it together. Please add me to your email list, I had to leave early Saturday to get to San Jose. My email is amber@thetrollfamily.com

Also the Alta Bates Diabetes Center is here http://www.altabatessummit.org/diabetes/ and Dorothea is a diabetes educator/nutritionist who would be delighted to refer clients to the group.
Thanks for the info, Amber. I've put you on the mailing list; see you in November!
Hello again. I just replied to your fried request and then found this group. Please add me to your email list: judyblunt@comcast.net.
