Hi Jan,

I know a lot of young teens in my community in Westchester who see Dr. Gallagher. I do not think the Berrie Center has its own support groups as of now, but they either will (1) be able to point you to others in the city, or (2) maybe even consider putting one together themselves.

Great to meet someone else who I am assuming is having a positive experience at the Berrie Center!

Should clarify that group I would be interested in for her would be a general group for young teens, as opposed to an older teen/adult group.

My niece was dx'd at 8, is now 12, and sees Dr. Mary Pat Gallagher at Naomie Berrie. Will soon turn 13. Wonder if there are support groups for her age group.

I just want to put it out there for anyone looking for an endo in NYC that the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia University Medical Center is the place to be. They have endos, nutritionists, an eye doctor specifically for diabetics...the works. My endo there is Dr. Lauren Golden, but they have many, all of whom are highly recommended by other people I've met there. http://nbdiabetes.org/

Any recommendations for Endocrinologists in the city?

Okay, so I live in CT, but that's only two hours from NYC and I'm in NYC atleast once per month! Actually I've always WANTED to live in NYC, but, alas, I'm still in CT. Oh well. Cool group!
