Hi!

I've lived with T1D for 11 years, and I know very few people who live with the disease.

I live in Manhattan, and I get the sense that it is hard to meet people with T1D in the city. Nicole - let me know if you're interested in meeting. I've certainly started to feel tired of it as well.

Hi there...this is my first time commenting here. I don't know anyone else with disease...I've had it for 28 years now and have recently begun to feel isolated & just tired of it. I would love to meet other diabetics...just to hang out and talk. I live in queens but manhattan is not a problem :-)

I've been to this meetup group for T1's and I always enjoy it. It's about once a month. Usually in Manhattan.

Check out ACT1 diabetes - they're a support group and more in NYC. ACT1 stands for Adults Coping with Type 1. Their website is: www.act1diabetes.org/ -- although it didn't seem to be working for me right now. They're quite active -- if you're having trouble figuring out how to get in contact, just let me know-- I have some old emails from them in my email from when I attended a meeting or two back in the day.

I went to one at Joslin when I was diagnosed, about 18 years ago and it was all T2s who were completely uneducated. I wrote it off til now. Realizing I'm feeling really isolated with this disease!

I'm interested in a NYC group, too. I feel like this should be easier to find than it is!

How do you measure the work of volunteers?

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
