Comment by Greg on February 9, 2013 at 1:41pm Hi!
I've lived with T1D for 11 years, and I know very few people who live with the disease.
I live in Manhattan, and I get the sense that it is hard to meet people with T1D in the city. Nicole - let me know if you're interested in meeting. I've certainly started to feel tired of it as well.

Comment by Sam Iam on February 2, 2013 at 8:59am I've been to this meetup group for T1's and I always enjoy it. It's about once a month. Usually in Manhattan.
Comment by Sophie on February 2, 2013 at 8:56am Check out ACT1 diabetes - they're a support group and more in NYC. ACT1 stands for Adults Coping with Type 1. Their website is: www.act1diabetes.org/ -- although it didn't seem to be working for me right now. They're quite active -- if you're having trouble figuring out how to get in contact, just let me know-- I have some old emails from them in my email from when I attended a meeting or two back in the day.
Comment by cat on February 2, 2013 at 8:46am I went to one at Joslin when I was diagnosed, about 18 years ago and it was all T2s who were completely uneducated. I wrote it off til now. Realizing I'm feeling really isolated with this disease!
Comment by Wren on February 2, 2013 at 5:37am I'm interested in a NYC group, too. I feel like this should be easier to find than it is!
