Hi Everyone,

I did my 6th IUI 6 days ago (3rd since last miscarriage). Am in the dreaded two week wait where every symptom is analsyed and agonised over.

The last 3 days my fasting blood sugar has been way higher than usual M-109, Tu-106, We - 100 (added 1 extra unit of insulin last night, which didn't help much). Also my post eating levels have been higher than usual - have had 140s and 150s at 2 hours after eating.

Anyway, question is, is this too early to be having a change in blood sugars if I am pregnant?

I'm going to eat more carefully and monitor more frequently today and hopefully I can keep numberes down.

Am so anxious about this and so wanting to finally get (and stay) pregnant.

For me, during my 3rd and 4th pregnancies, I knew two weeks before I took a pregnancy test that something was up. My blood sugars spiked drastically. During the 3rd pregnancy, my blood sugars were very hard to control throughout. Throughout the first trimester of my 4th, my insulin needs decreased gradually. They didn't start to increase dramatically till towards the end of the 2nd trimester.

Exercise helped me a lot during this pregnancy (#4). Definitely exercise. I did yoga for 75 mins 2x/week.
Hi, thanks for your comment. Seems the bss really vary a lot from pregnancy to pregnancy.

Am REALLY hoping this could spell good news.

I didn't notice such an impact on my past 2 pregnancies (both ended in first trimester miscarriage), and my pregnancy with my daughter I didn't get "officially diagnosed" with diabetes until about 1 month into the pregnancy so wasn't monitoring what was happening really early on.

I've started jogging again: 3x a week, about 1 hour each time. I should be able to continue this and hopefully it will be very beneficial for any pregnancy. If I make a huge effort I should be able to squeeze in 30 minutes a day on the days I don't jog on the treadmill. I also do yoga, usually once a week.
Last night I took extra bolus (usually I don't have to bolus in the evenings - though to admit I did eat more carbs than usual) - but BS was 97 2 hours after dinner, and then I increased the evening NPH up to 14 units (increase of 2 units) and fasting was still 104 this morning. Until this week I would usually be 70 - 90 range. At least yesterday I managed to keep bs below 120 at the times I tested (though more testing would have been ideal).

Feeling terribly tired and really sore back. Am still hopeful.

My endo would insist on fasting BS < 90 all the times and never above 120 on any other readings.

Will be doing much more frequent testing over the next few days to see what is going on.

Praying and hoping that this is a sticky healthy baby boy for me.
