Very HIGH blood sugars in Early pregnancy instead of LOWS?

Almost everything I've read says most diabetics experience a lot of lows and blood sugar drops during early pregnancy and that insulin needs will increase in later trimesters. I will be 6 weeks this coming Monday and my sugars have been sky high from the start. I'm up to a +50% basal rate on my pump. My blood sugars are under control and running 89-120 on that basal rate but without the insulin increase my sugars would be out of control.

Has anyone else experienced high sugars in early pregnancy instead of lows?

Hi there! I went through the same thing you are going through now. Weeks 1-6/7 I was high and my basal was also up by 50%! Then, around week 8 I've had constant lows. Just hang in there, adapt as quickly as you can and get ready for a ride! :)

Im at 7 weeks and Ive been having insulin resistance for about the last 1 - 2 weeks..
Its been strange but Im cautiously approaching the new few where Im expecting blood sugars to plummet..
ITs a fun game that I wish I had more energy to deal with

Mine went up rather than down also, with both pregnancies, even though I had always heard you're likely to have lows at first. Not my body's plan!!!
