hey everyone! i have a couple of questions. this month i have started on the minimed paradigm pump because my husband and i are ttc. my sugars and a1c have been off the charts but they are averaging in the 100s to high 200s. i know in order to become prego i have to have complete control but my question is how long does it usually take to conceive? we have been trying on our own but nothing... any advice on this is welcome!!

Blood sugars have been seriously off the past few days. Now I'm unusually high... even considering what I ate - and the insulin I took normally wouldn't let me get so high..... Am breastfeeding baby no. 2 who is now 7 1/2 months... my cycle hasn't returned yet... tested negative a few days ago, but I am seriously wondering if I could be? I don't know if I'm going to be happy or sad if I am...

Hello everyone,

I have been following this forum for a while and finally have the courage to post. I found out I am 4 weeks pregnant yesterday! I couldnt be more excited/scared/freaking out, but I know I can keep my diabetes until control (hopefully) now that I am not just doing it for me. I am so thankful to know that there are other people out there just like me and look forward to your support!

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Hubs and I are slowly healing and the doctor did not think my diabetes had anything to do with it. And they said we can try again after my next period so hopefully soon.

Hey Heather, thanks, I have been thinking about running by the pharmacy and getting refills for my lantus and humalog pens. I was doing so well with them 3 months ago before i switched to the pump. That gives me an extra incentive. I will give the extra shots a try.
