Interesting, but what's the difference between this and what's currently being done with pumps and CGM units? Doesn't seem like it'd be much. They didn't even say if this device was external or implanted. Since it was "outpatient", I'm thinking it wasn't implanted.

It's a dexcom, an omnipod both "talking" with an android smartphone were a software do its calc and control basal and correction/food boluses.
It's a joint USA,France,Italy project. The first 2 outpatients were a french and an italian girl friend of mine.
