I am using Apidra. What is everyone else using? Do U think it makes any difference with the Pod as to what type of Insulin you are using?

Apidra in my pod since 12/07.
I have used Apidra in the pod for almost 3.5 years.
I've been using Apidra for about 3 years. Previously in my Cozmo and now in my Pod. Been on the Pod since September 2010 so I have nothing to compare it to. It does seem more stable than my old Novolog, but I didn't notice any faster action that my Endo explained was the benefit of going with Apidra.

Cheers,
Kev
I use Humalog. I have a couple of vials of Apidra left over from my Deltec pump, but I went off pump and back to shots for a year. During the year I used Humalog pens, so I just stuck with that. I do think that Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NC would prefer Apidra (cheaper for them).
I use Apidra in my pods too. It works really well for me. It's the only rapid acting I've ever used so I'm not sure how it compares to other insulin. My doctor told me it was the fastest insulin out there but I've seen studies that say it's about the same. As long as it works I'm happy!
Johnny,

I use Novolog in my pods and have since I started on them in Dec 2007.

It was years ago, but I tried Apidra, and my body Did Not Like It. My blood sugars went crazy. At first, I thought perhaps I had been given a bad sample bottle, but I got the script filled, and that didn't work for me, either.

My doctor scratched his head about it...but I'm sticking to Novolog!
i use apidra in my Pods. i recently (April) switched from Novolog. so far, i like apidra better. i seem to have fewer highs that last forever. Also, I don't have to take the insulin approx 30 minutes before I eat like I had to with Novolog.
My daughter has Novolog in her pod.
Clearly which type of insulin works best for you is like asking which set of tires are best...... all depends on the how many good stories you here, right? Needless to say Diabetes is a personal medical condition that treats us all so very very differently.... unfortunately. Over the years I have bounced from one rapid acting insulin to another based on my current regimen and how my blood sugars were doing.
Most importantly b consistent and work with your Endo to get it right. All three brands work based on each individuals circumstances. Also do your homework on the insulin brand via their website or local rep. Endo's may be partial to one or the other but unless they have D then that is based on who visits them most often, period. Do your research and stay true to yourself...... the money grabbers in this industry will not always be looking out for your best interest.....
I've used both Apidra and Novolog and haven't noticed a big difference.
