Permalink Reply by Scott Wilkins on January 21, 2013 at 1:46pm Is he left handed? I'm right handed and had a few "adjustments" to my routines that I had to make in order to wear it on my left arm. I used to take corners in the house "closely" by slightly rubbing my left arm along the corner as I rounded them. Did it without thinking. Of course the first Pod I put on my left arm met an untimely demise on a door frame within a few hours. I don't do that any more. It just takes time to adjust and learn new routines. He will get there in time.

Permalink Reply by meh_mtl on January 22, 2013 at 5:09am when I first started on the omni pod I had problems with the right arm because I kept knocking it. I find where you place it on the arm makes a big difference. when I do my arm I try to put it closer to the arm pit, so that when I sleep on my side I doesn`t come off.
don`t give up, just find little tricks that work for you, and as time goes by you'll see less problems with having pods come off.
I really liked using my arms at first, now I prefer to use my legs. however I encourge using all the differnt places and rotating all the time.

Permalink Reply by Herman on January 22, 2013 at 6:18am Left or right for me no difference. But what is the right way to put it on your arm. This is the way it was explained to me by Ypsomed. For placing on your right arm, you put your right hand on your head, and with your left hand you place the pod on de underside of your right arm. The canule can point towards your armpit or your elbow. Now it is on the backside of my arm and I do not bump in to anything and can sleep fine with it. I do this frequently and it works fine and BG and perfect. I you have skinny arm there is not enough fat tissue and the canula will hurt when inserting. I have had issues when I started but it will get better after a few months when you get used to it. It is like riding a bike, you first have to learn and get experienced.

Permalink Reply by barend on January 22, 2013 at 6:58am Initially I have been trying different sites for the pod. Started with the stomach, didn't work well for me. Now my arms are the best place. I think you have to experiment and find out which site works best for your husband. We are all unique..... but I think the pod can help us all very much eventually.
Permalink Reply by Belinda on January 22, 2013 at 1:56pm Hi Aroni what I share with you is what works for me may not work for him but probably will. First I ask you to go to my home page and look at the pictures that I have posted. The Kinesio tape has made my life great as the door jams are not a problem as are the B pillers of my customers cars wich is where I lost a lot of pods. When I trigger a pod any where I always push down moderatly on the heel of the pod as when released the angle of the cannula is not compromised IE bent too far. Up down doesn't matter. No fat on my arms that doesn't matter to me seems to work fine. Will be going on 4 years in October and very happy with the system.Best of luck to you both.
