Does anyone know when we will start getting the new omnipods? The company that supplies me keeps calling and leaving messages to encourage me to order and I still have more than a month of pods left. I'm wondering if they are trying to deplete their current stock so they won't get stuck with inventory they can't sell. I don't want to buy another 90 day supply if I'm going to convert to the new smaller pods. The omnipod website indicates the new system will start shipping later this month and March.

Thanks

I just received a shipment today of the old pods and no one has asked if I want anything different. Do you know if we have to pay to upgrade the pdm? Do I have to ask them to switch over or is it an automatic thing? In which I guess would mean there is no charge to switch over.

I've only read on their website that they will contact you and I seem to remember reading there won't be a charge to switch but not 100% sure on that. I'm going to call Insulet next week and see what I can find out.

I just spoke with my Omnipod rep last night about this same question. He said the new pods haven't even been delivered within the company so we should go ahead and order the older ones for now. Hope this helps!

That does help. Thanks.

I was told by an Omnipod re-order rep that the new pods won't start shipping until at least late March. Also, Omnipod will contact you well in advance to let you know you're being switched over to the new system, along with information about how to make the switch.

Q4 2012 Insulet Corporation Earnings Conf Call is on Feb 27, 2013 5:00 PM ET.

I expect a reliable update then.

New customers already get the smaller pod. Existing customers will get the smaller pod in the next couple of weeks. This is what Insulet said. You are free to believe or not to believe. I like to believe, but I don't.

Insulet will send you an email a few weeks before you get a shipment because there is an online training/tutorial to complete. We just got another 90-day supply a couple of weeks ago and the rep said that our next shipment in late April would be the new pods and PDM. There is no cost at all for the upgrade - they are reducing their manufacturing costs substantially with the smaller pods, so they want everyone switched over ASAP.

Thanks, I appreciate those details.

Thank you so much for this information! I had to have my PDM replaced last week, as it stopped functioning correctly and my new PODS come tomorrow (regular shipment). So happy that this will be my last order of BIG ones!!

how will it work if your pods are supplied by Liberty Medical in terms of Insulet switching you over to the new pods??
