So I had my first screamer today, and really couldn`t figure out where the sound was coming from.
I had to do a pod change and my pod was on my leg and so i decided to put the new one on and then go and change it in the bathroom.( really I dont think my co-workers want to see me with my pants down) only I got distracted and forgot it was there. so alllllll afternoon I listened to it scream and kept checking my PDM, putting my ear to my new pod and going "where in the world is that sound coming from"

I only figred it out 5 hours later! go me! lol

anyway I couldn`t get it to stop screaming so I stuffed it in my freeezer for now.

anyone else have a story like this so I don`t feel like a complete idiot?

Yeah I have problems getting it open myself.

I do not get screamers too often, but besides sticking them in the freezer (which at least suffocates the pod until it defrosts) we have a box full of pins (which is not a foolproof method) which we use to stab it in the heart (like a vampire!)

On the top side of the pump (outward facing side) there is a small indentation on the side of the yellowish circle that is translucent on the pod. Stick the pin (stake) in the there a wiggle, the scream will change to a moan until it subsides (sometimes it moans again if you take out the pin).

Sounds very zombie/vampire like of the pod (sorry just finished watching the sunday night vampire/zombie shows) but freezer or stake are the methods that work for me.

I had a screamer not too long ago, it stopped when it met Mr.Size 13 heel of my right shoe:)

Haha!

Anyways the website is being strange, but OmniPod has a recycling program for old pods? I did not know that. Where would I find more information about this?

http://www.myomnipod.com/customer-care/pod-disposal-program/

if the site does not work you can just go to myomnipod.com and click on customer care, you will see it

I had my first screamer last week. I was on a cruise and in my room changing my pod and it started to scream. It was in the morning and I didn't want to leave it screaming for my cabin steward to find when he cleans the room. Luckily I had a balcony room so that one ended up in the Carribean Sea with the fish. I brought 4 pods with me so didn't have any issues after that.

LoL. I have had 2 screamers now and only a month on the pod. my boyfriend was present for the last one, and his exact words were " what the BEEEEEP is that"

There's a simple solution for screamers: a hammer! That will teach them.

LOL freezer works for me, and will be safe... lol I am a natural born klutz, Me and hammers should not even be in the same vincinity lol

My FIRST EVER POD was a screamer...My Grandma (who's house I was at) tried running it over with her cadillac to get it to shit up- and it didn't work!
