So I figured I would try the pod on my thigh for the first time and I'm stuck in the 180-200's. I usually use my mid-section but I figured I would benefit from a change up. Does anyone else have issue's with their thighs? If I can't get my numbers down I'm going to have to go back to using my belly.

The leg doesn't have great absorption for me. My thighs are too muscular and I haven't found a great site to put the pod (the canula has caused me pain or kinking issues the few times I've tried it on my thigh). But while those pods were working, I noticed that I had to run 20-50% more basal in addition to bolusing larger for the carbs I was eating. for example using my normal sites I might bolus 3 units for x amount of carbs. Well for that same amount of carbs I'd have to bolus nearly 6 units in addition to bolusing extra early to give the insulin time to act. So yes, I totally feel ya on the thigh not working well :-/ I don't have a great remedy for you other than trying other sites (I frequently use the back of my arms and my flank area (back side, above the waistline). Those spots seem to have great absorption for me. Hope you can find some other spots that work for you!
Interesting, do you find belly, back and bottom seem to have similiar absorption rates then?

I am thinking for my daughter kennedy, we want to rotate like belly belly back back butt butt ( these sites all seem the same)

We are still figuring out ratios so I hate to throw in that extra variable of site variation right now??
Every time I have tried using my thighs, I get an occlusion error or just an error immediately. Have never been able to see if my BS runs higher.
When I asked about using my thighs, my doc made a face and said that because they are so muscular, thighs don't always have the best absorption. I've yet to use them for that reason.
I'm curious too, what users experience is with arms/legs use vs belly back use??

It seems absorption of insulin is faster in belly/back than arms / legs ? Is this true?

If so I guess we might want to pay attention to that in our site rotation?

Sorry I have no answers, just more questions??
we started using the back of the arms, my daughter is very lean and it works well. No BG issues when we use it.
belly and back work well too and upper butt is good , though when we use upper butt ,BG stays higher for awhile after the new pod goes on.
