before i went on the pump my a1c was 11+ then it went down to 6.8 now it's between 7...8...

Just got my blood test back still at a 7.6 same as the last time. I guess its better than it going up but I was hoping for it to get better.

This is my kinda group people just like me that have A1c levels that are in my range and i am on a pump and for some odd reason when i go to my doctor in february i bet there close to 8 isn't the pump suppose to help bring them down there must be something i am doing wrong and i don't like anything above 8, i feel better when there in the low 7's.

I'm so glad I found this group, viewing all these people's profiles with A1C's in the 5's... I almost thought there was something wrong with me! I've been trying my hardest to get below 7 for the last 16 years (T1), but life & everything it has to bring just gets in the way! Here's to working your hardest to keep your sugars under control despite what your Endo may think of you (no Doc, I'm not eating candy bars at home, thanks)!

Ignoring their advice got me through 3 pregnancies. I'm always being congratulated on my great cholesterol/lipids numbers, as if I had anything to do with those.

Hey, I'm starting to feel like a fraud as the founder of this group because my last HbA1C was 6.8 - over the 22 years I have been type 1 it has averaged at about 10 with bad times reaching 14 ( prob higher when I did get the blood test) and good times not moving below the stubborn 9. After years of self-experimentation and now ignoring the dieticians and doctors advice the only way I have managed to get it down is by hugely reducing my carb intake. I am now also on a pump and CGM but overall the drop is due to an increase in protein and decrease in carbs especially at my evening meal because this means sugars are good throughout the night. I figured if you sort the night time out that is half your
HbA1c sorted. I got really wound up when my doctor said 'well done, excellent' because I was trying just as hard before and only by not following their advice I got it down! Argh! We shouldn't put up with 'this is your fault' type stuff! Anyway, To be honest I'm not sure how long I will stay this low so I'm gonna stay in this group if that is okay.

My bg goes up with stress sometimes and goes low with stress sometimes. That makes for endless spikes and a higher A1c. I went on a pump and thought that would help, but my A1c still keeps climbing. My issue too is CHOCOLATE, esp. white chocolate. There is something about these "stupid" white chocolate binges I go on when really stressed out. I guess because of the fat content, my bg looks normal an hour or two later, but then goes off the charts several hours later. I'm too embarrassed to ask the TAGers how to use my pump to give myself insulin later to address the issue of latent chocolate highs. LOL
