Hey Jordan, mine used to be 14 at one point - you are not alone. It is annoying that the higher you are the more you need the pump but the more unlikely that you will get one. It is like there is an assumption that if your A1C is high, it is your fault. Ahhhh. Keep trying though - do you carb count? Increased your doses? I think when I had a 14 A1C I had reallly given up (not saying its the same for you though) and was sick of trying everything so it just rose up. Being so high all the time made me moody and I didnt feel great. Now I am really trying but still not perfect, infact my last three tests I have gone from 7.9 (best ever although hypo ALL the time), 8.1 and now 8.3 - I thought it was supposed to get better!? I got mine down from 14 with moving from two shots a day to several. I feel now that I can not try any harder than I am to get my 8.3 down and after 20 years have finally realised that the only way I think I can personally get mine down is to reduce carbs. I think it is a really indivdual thing but I wished a doctor had said years ago rather than me figuring it out 20 years later. I have retinopathy now so I feel a little bit bitter! Hope you can figure out what works for you! Don't give up.

It's sad reading all these A1C numbers and knowing that mine blows you guys outta the water:(
I've tried everything on the face of the earth and my doctor wont give me a pump that i know would help me:(
But is everyone ready for this.....my A1C last time was 14+:'( it was horrible hearing that i dont know what im suppose to do anymore because nothing works...

Well I think this is the place for me right now. Even though I am on the pump, my lowest Hb1ac was 6.9. I've had type 1 diabetes for 6 years and been on the pump almost that long but cannot seem to get a handle on my numbers. And what gets me is that when I am doing really well for a week or so, I will get sick or have those air bubbles in the line of my pump and up go the numbers and seems it ruins everything :( Well I will enjoy reading these posts. Looks like I'm not alone!

I have been type 1 since 2002. well they were not sure what i was. I had surgery and got really sick after and that is how i ended up with, type 1. or 1.5 they don't no. I am trying everything i can to get my sugars under control and haven't been able to yet. I just got on a pump a year ago and they told me that that would take care of my problem. which it has not. doesn't not matter what i do. weather i eat or not i have pretty much gave up on it. It also doesn't help that i have yet to find a decent doctor that will take the time to help. the only time i have been under control in the whole time I've been type one was when i was pregnant with my daughter almost 5 years ago. that was the easiest time i have ever had and everything went great now with my son who i just had in august of 2008 i was in and out of the hospital so many times they almost killed me a few times and he was born at 32 weeks being 9lbs 12oz and 22 inch long big boy and was their for a while. My last A1C was 9.9 not good. but it doesn't matter what i do

i know have an A1C of 9.0 which sucks! that was three months after the 11.8, and i am working my ass off in order to get it lower

OMG! Guys my A1C was 10.4, in Jan. I cried at the doctors office. I go back at the end of this month, July. I'm just not looking forward to it at all.

I do 60 carbs a day. Lots of veggies, lots! I also have 4 other auto immune dissorders to deal with. Agh!
