my daughter will be 16 soon. When should you tell the employer about T1, during the interview process or after u get hired. I know employers cannot discriminate, but with the economy so bad most employers are being very stringent on who they hire.

It will be very hard to prove that she was not hired due to her diabetes if most of the applicants are 16 with about the same level of skills.
We do the same when my son tries out for select travel hockey teams. We are at the tryout location with him, just in case he needs anything, but we do not "tell" the coach until we are required to fill out the paperwork detailing illness, medicines, etc. that every player is required to complete prior to the first practice.
We had some problems after diagnosis with coaches that were aware of his situation passing on him - one even traded him. The last two years we have done tryouts with newer teams that do not know him and he is playing a level above most of the players on his prior teams. All he wants is a fair shot, like any other player!
