My son's hair seems to get "greasy" very quickly. Can insulin be at the root of this?

It doesn't seem likely to me. Our bodies produce insulin and we don't all have greasier than normal hair. How old is your son?

Excellent point. He just turned 12, so maybe hormones with teenage years approaching?

Oh yes. I have yet to start down the teenage hormone track with my son (he is 11), but my daughter had this problem early on in puberty. It was this time that she started shampooing twice when she showered and definitely had to wash her hair every day.

At first I thought he wasn't rinsing properly, but I realize he is. Shampooing once a day is where we are at too :) Thanks!

Funny my 14 year old daughyer is compalining about having greasy hair too. Never thought it could be insulin. I will watch this conversation. We have been through every kind of shampoo. I know I use to rinse my hair with vinegar when I was younger to really get it clean but if it is hormones there is not a lot that can be done.

We have been using Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo and find it works the best out of all the other brands we have tried.
