I just got reminded the hard way yesterday that not all of my son's blood glucose meters take the same batteries. (we have plenty of back up batteries on hand for his pump and meter he uses everyday) I could have avoided panic by having extras on hand. Frankly it wasn't on my emergency supply check list because He hasn't had a problem with his meter for over two years. Needless to say I am happy we live in town so I was able to get to a store quickly but it did worry my thoughts of if we had not been near a store. Just a friendly reminder that you can always have room for error!
