Hi Amy! I am the mother of 3 with my youngest diagnosed as Type 1,- 5 years ago. My other 2 are in college (1 in grad school the other graduating in May (God WIlling !). I live in NE PA so I am not near Berks County,( I don't Think), but wanted to let you know that it does become a little less exhausting. Not sure how you are able to manage with 4 and your youngest being the one with Type 1 ! There is so much to learn and do and your other children are so effected by the diagnosis as well. Sorry I don't live closer, but just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you. Nancy

Hi Amy, I am a longtime Type 1 even though I don't have a child with Type 1 I would be happy to share my experiences and the information that is available to help you. I have lived with Type 1 for over 50 years and I have been able to take advantage of medical advances that have taken place over the years. One resource that is available that wasn't many years ago is Certified Diabetes Educators. I have been consulting with one for over 10 years and he has been such a godsend. He himself is also a Type one, he is very active in the Diabetes community.

Amy where exactly are you located? I have been looking for someone for my daughter to play with that can relate to everything she is going through, There are not many kids near us that she can play with and needs support from people that are going through what she is going through.

I live in Hamburg, so we are close. My son is 13 and has type 1. My daughter is 10 years old. How old are your children?

Our children are close in age. What are your boys into? Do they play basketball, baseball, Xbox? How about your girls? My daughter loves basketball, She is also a typical girl, dolls, barbies, etc. How is your daughter doing with the diabetes?

You and I just friended and I can't believe you live in Hamburg! I live in Auburn just 10 miles north of Cabelas off of 61. My daughter is 9 years old. We have 5 children. 3 boys and 2 girls. My two oldest are 15 and 14. I hope we get to meet face to face!

HI! I am a Homeschooling Mom of 5. I live in Auburn (just 10 miles North of Cabelas!)
I just now saw your post. I can't believe we live close!!
My daughter Mary is 9 years old and was diagnosed 4 years ago 12/26. We lived in Kempton at the time. We doctor in Allentown - Pediatric endochrinology. Please, can our daughters meet?????
